Nel 2013 dopo una vita di sport a buoni livelli, decisi di smettere. Mi sentivo inadeguato, impreparato per poter affrontare le gare, non riuscivo ad accettare l'idea che andava sacrificato altro tempo solo per poter fare sport amatoriale. Di fondo vedevo un'incoerenza apparentemente insuperabile; la grandissima voglia di fare sport stava peggiorando la mia vita.

Ho sempre dovuto fare salti mortali per potermi preparare alle gare, le giornate spesso finivano sul divano, cotto dalla giornata di lavoro e da qualche ora di allenamento. I risultati non mancavano ma non potevo continuare così, sacrificando la famiglia e gli amici, perchè alla fine dopo una buona classifica cosa mi restava?
